Tailored Intervention for Women with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and ADHD Symptoms1

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is believed to be neurologically based and is characterised by enduring attentional problems, motor restlessness, and cognitive and motor impulsivity. Former opinion suggested that females experience ADHD at a similar level to males but are underdiagnosed. In a recent study, a 7-week intervention addressing routine establishment, organisation, time management, stress management, and sensory regulation was provided to women aged 20-55 years old with self-diagnosed ADHD. The results confirmed that the intervention was effective in reducing perceived stress and ADHD symptoms, in enhancing perceived performance and satisfaction with daily activities among women with ADHD.
