Improved Cognitive Function with Healthy Lifestyle
BY: Yan ChiuMay 12, 2021

Dementia is one of the most prevalent age-related diseases worldwide and may impair the ability of the old people to maintain social connectedness. The results of a 2011-2014 Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey comprising 5716 participants with an average age of 82 years have recently revealed that maintaining a healthy dietary pattern, especially higher consumptions of fish and nuts, and having frequent outdoor exercises are associated with a lower risk of cognitive impairment among Chinese elderly people. These promising results provide additional evidences for the relationship between healthy lifestyle and cognitive function among old people.
