The 24-hour Movement Guidelines have been well-established. However, based on an analytic sample consisted of 692 local adolescents aged 11-18 years (53% girls), only 1.0% of adolescents met all of the recommendations in the Guidelines, whereas only 9.1% of adolescents met the recommendation for physical activity and those met the recommendation for sleep was 38.6%. Of note, meeting the physical activity recommendation or the combination of physical activity and sleep recommendations was significantly associated with healthier body weight. Hence, education and encouragement on healthy lifestyle for adolescents, particularly on physical activity and sleep habit, are urgently needed.
