Currently, there is no treat-to-target framework to guide systemic treatment in adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD) exists. Hence, an international Steering Committee has developed recommendations, which covers guiding principles, decision making, and outcome thresholds, in managing moderate-to-severe AD. The recommendations were evaluated by an extended international panel of physicians, nurses and patients in 2 rounds of e-Delphi exercise. While consensus in the panel was reached, the proposed framework of recommendations was expected to guide shared decision-making in a treat-to target approach for systemic treatment in adults with moderate-to-severe AD.
On 3rd October, 2021, a web-based clinical workshop titled “Treat to Target in AD Management: Sharing of Canadian Consensus and Global Consensus With Case Sharing” has been organised successfully. In the event, Dr. Chih-ho Hong, Clinical Assistant Professor of the University of British Columbia and one of the members of the Steering Committee, was invited to share the process of developing the consensus recommendations on treat-to-target approach for systemic treatment in adults with moderate-to-severe AD. In addition, Dr. Hong shared some clinical cases of AD treatment as well.
